ASICS Europe BV is the European subsidiary of the globally active ASICS corporation.

Our environmental vision and values

ASICS has the responsibility of to look after the natural both today and for future generations.

Hence, ASICS Europe recognizes an important social responsibility for ensuring the conservation of the environment and is addressing the challenge of building a global society capable of sustainable development. ASICS Europe takes a systemic approach to managing environmental impacts in its own facilities as well as its supply chain.

Generally put, we aim to do so by:

• Increasing organisation wide environmental awareness amongst our own staff and stimulate precautionary approach to environmental challenges; Stimulate all colleagues to address environmental responsibilities within the framework of daily operating procedures.
• Adopt a Product Stewardship and lifecycle approach to our products and services.
• We aim to continuously reduce the Carbon Impact of our facilities, products and supply chain.
• Integrate Environmental Management Systems with our existing internal managerial processes and external partnerships; Expand and continually improve our environmental management system within the Group; Quantify and monitor as much as possible environmental impacts of our business.
• Strive for Continuous Improvement through encouraging and stimulating the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies and practices. The protection of the environment is an ongoing process and Continuous improvements are required to live up to our environmental accountability to consumers, suppliers, employees and the generations to come; Strive for continuous energy efficiency and the usage of alternative clean sources of energy in our facilities, supply chain and overall operations.
• Minimise waste, whilst seek to recycle as much as economically feasible and ensure that the remainder is disposed of and processed responsibly.
• Continuously achieve environmental improvements and improving product and consumer safety by increasing the transparency of our supply chain and product composition as well as integrating sustainability into the design of products and processes.
• Observe and comply with current environment regulation in all countries and regions where we are active and when practical and feasible seek to meet future legal requirements ahead of applicable deadlines.
• Publish and Disclose information regarding our environmental activities and performance.
• Involve and strive for stakeholder engagement. Enhance awareness of relevant issues among customers, investors, retailers, staff, civil society, supplier and others who have an interest in our business. Moreover, use environmental management as a means for closer collaboration. In addition, ASICS Europe will play a leadership role concerning an industry based approach to environmental management through its active membership of WFSGI.
• Stimulate our business partners to comply with all applicable environmental legislation and to run their businesses with due consideration for health and safety and the environment. Seek suppliers who provide green services and products as much as possible.

To achieve these objectives we established an environmental programme. The board ensures the availability of resources to implement the environmental programme and ensures that employees are aware of the importance of conformity with the environmental policy.

A fundamental part of this environmental programme is to establish and maintain a ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System (EMS). The scope of the ISO 14001 certification is our facilities and organisation located at Kruisweg 567 Hoofddorp. After the initial phase leading up to ISO 14001 certification, we aim to increase both the scope as well as expand the objectives of our EMS.
